Laura
Early Years Lead, Forest School Leader and Chief Fun Maker
Hi! I'm Laura and I co-ordinate a lot of the day to day logistics at The Fox Den. I am also the face you'll see most of if you hire one of our complete packages. During my 25 years of working with children and the outdoors, it has been clear to see that children thrive on as much fresh air, free, child led play and exploration as possible; so that is exactly what we offer here at The Fox Den in abundance.

I am Mama of 3, a qualified Early Years Professional and Forest School Leader, I also own Red Fox Forest School, bringing sessions to festivals and other events as well as offering freelance work. In my 'spare time' I am a Yoga Teacher, felt artist and song sharer but love nothing more than getting out into nature and checking in with the world.

I hold qualifications in Paediatric and Outdoor First Aid and hold a current enhanced DBS.

Toby
Playground designer and Creator of Fun Stuff
Hey, I’m Toby, a maker and designer of play spaces across the country and I have the fabulous responsibility of delivering and building our fantastic play spaces at various events!
I’ve been building playgrounds and outside spaces for over 15 years. As well as thoroughly enjoying my work, I’ve seen the wide ranging benefits of enabling children to have more frequent and deeper access to outside spaces for learning and fun.
My main job is running Heartwood Creative, a small family run company designing and building unique outside spaces in schools, nurseries and gardens.
I’ve always been passionate about the outdoors and when I’m not in the workshop or on site building fun things, or helping to build and run the Fox Den, I love being in the water, especially the sea, or biking up and down hills, and have long enjoyed playing team sports in the rain or sun! I also hold a current enhanced DBS.

Favourite food: Always keen on cheesecake, or a really good sausage roll!
Favourite hobby: Mountain biking

Jen
Democratic educator and creator of learning communities
I believe in education for wellbeing and freedom to learn without school. I am also the Founder of Little Forest, a democratic and rights respecting learning community for home educating children, ages 5 to 11+ years (Years 1 - 6+), in Horsham. Little Forest is for children who want to explore their curiosity and share decision making in a nature loving community. My super power is seeing the creative potential in children's ideas and helping them to realise their visions through collaborative projects.

I hold qualifications in Paediatric First Aid and hold a current enhanced DBS.
