About Us

As parents of little people, we soon found out that more often than not, our little people did not have a huge amount to do at events. They would sit with us and watch the big kids do all their amazing activities, but ultimately they needed a space dedicated to them, so they could make friends, explore and play independently with the knowledge that we were available on the side lines, a break for them and a break for us.

This got us thinking; we think big. Some thinks were way way too big to put into anysort of practical practice; but one idea got us really excited. An outdoor mobile play space for those children who were too young to take part in the bigger activities. A place just for them, somewhere safe, somewhere extra special to explore, unleash their imaginations and connect with others all whilst parents watched on from the side lines.  Upcycling and recycling what we could for our project was also high on the agenda, as was a natural feel. So with all this in mind, we hatched a plan and  The Fox Den was created.

​Based in Sussex, The Fox Den draws on many years of experience in a collaboration of outdoor play specialists Heartwood Creative and Red Fox Forest School , and has been designed with little people in mind. Made up of carefully selected elements, this magical, exciting space includes a sensory sound station, a weaving frame, mark making tables, loose parts, hand eye games, a mini stage, mud kitchen and a sandpit. Its unique set up allows this area to be completely mobile and felxible in size, so it can be enjoyed at any event, festival, party or wedding providing a special, dedicated, natural play space for the under 7s.

 

The Fox Den is available as a stand alone unit or it can be combined with a qualified Early Years Practitioner and Forest School Leader to supervise play or provide additional activities.
